What is a “real age?” Dr. Roizen says there is more to age than just your calendar age that determines how many more years you have to live. This alternate age is your “real age.”

Roizen has recently released a list of 12 critical factors that can greatly reduce your real age:

1. Take one 325 mg aspirin per day after the age of 40: reduces real age by up to 1.9 years

2. Flossing: reduces real age up to 6.4 years

3. Keep blood pressure low (115/75 mm Hg): reduces real age by up to 25 years

4. Reduce stress: reduces real age by up to 25 years

5. Take vitamins regularly including:

  • 1,200 mg of vitamin C per day
  • 400 IU of vitamin E per day
  • 1,000-1,200 mg of calcium per day
  • 400-600 IU of vitamin D per day
  • 400 mcg of folate per day
  • 6 mg of vitamin B6 per day

6. Don’t smoke: Reduces real age by up to 8 years

7. Take 2 20-minute walks per day: Reduces real age by up to 5 years
