Greensboro, North Carolina is located in Guilford County which is about 20 miles West of Winston-Salem, and about 80 miles north of Charlotte.  Greensboro was started in 1807 and named after American Major General Nathanael Greene, because of his defense of an invasion of North Carolina by Lord Cornwallis on March 15, 1781.  Not long after its charter, Greensboro has become a center for educational and economic opportunities.

While making the most of the educational and economic opportunities, many people also enjoy the culture and entertainment available in Greensboro.  The city has an extensive park and garden system including the Bog Garden, Bicentennial Garden, Greensboro Center City Park, the Greensboro Arboretum, and Blandwood Mansion and Gardens.  If parks do not seem appealing, then maybe it is time to check out one of the professional sporting events that Greensboro hosts.  It is home to the Greensboro Grasshoppers, a minor league baseball team, the Greensboro Revolution, an indoor football team, and the Carolina Dynamo, a USL Premier Development League team.
